Creativity + Soul + Vision = A Self Made Woman

“… left to his own devices, man will use his god-given talents to be creative, productive, and prosperous. Using free will, he will better his own situation and that of those around him, thereby influencing in a positive way his own destiny…”

Creativity:  “generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others.”

At Brookgreen Gardens, there is a sculpture of a man carving himself out of the stone.

I stared at it for what seemed like hours, and it hit me.

That’s what we get to do.  We get to tap into our soul, create a vision for our lives and bodies and then start creating (or carving).

When your creative vision is paired with soul, the opportunities are endless.  This may look like yoga, dance, P90X or strolls through your neighborhood.  It may ask that you dive into your spirituality.  The carving may require a diet of fresh veggies and steamed fish one day and a taste of chocolate the next.

That’s the beauty of creative weight loss – it’s full of alternatives, ideas, possibilities and constant communication with your body.

Creating your ideal body is a creative process. It’s a daily doing, not a one time shebang. It’s a constant curiosity and tweaking.  It’s an “Oh crap” here, and a “Thatta girl” there.  Chip a little away here, polish there.

But, it’s got to have soul.  You can carve yourself into a size 2, but if you forgot to include your spirit in the process, you’ll be like the statue:  pretty to look at but as lifeless as a cold piece of stone.
